The Day 3 ride from Algona to Clear Lake promised to be the easiest of the week with only 59.9 miles to cover and a climb of only 1,068 feet. It didn't turn out that way as hot weather and high headwinds took their toll on us. We also had lots of wait time on this ride - Rachel waiting for a smoothie for 50 minutes in one of the pass through towns and, later, at dinner, an hour plus wait for a table at a restaurant in Clear Lake. Clear Lake (Theme: "Surfs Up") is a nice resort town and we saw some of Typhoon Tommy's Jet Ski Show.
While waiting on our table, we drank a beer (Tom) and a margarita (Rach) to celebrate making it through the ride. At dinner we invited a young couple from U.P. Michigan to join us so they would not have to wait so long and enjoyed some good conversation. They go to college at Marquette.More Photos
